With the Earth's natural resources in limited supply, choosing products that are manufactured responsibly is more important than ever. CMI uses sustainable products throughout its production processes, has initiated energy saving programs in its facilities, and has earned third-party certification for no added urea formaldehyde and the use of recycled content in its products.
CMI products also contribute to industry green building programs.
No Added Urea Formaldehyde
CraftMaster molded door designs, MiraTEC trim and Extira panels have no added urea formaldehyde. This is certified by Scientific Certification Systems under certificate number SCS-MC-01802. They are manufactured with environmentally preferable phenolic resins. In addition, CraftMaster Green Doors contain no added urea formaldehyde.
Not Subject to CARB ATCM
Due to their physical composition, CraftMaster molded door designs, MiraTEC trim, and Extira panels are not subject to the California Air Resources Board's (CARB) Airborne Toxic Control Measure 93120 (ATCM). This measure enforces limits on formaldehyde emissions. If they were subject to the ATCM rule, they would meet the the specification for the designation "ultra low formaldehyde emitter."
Through repeated testing by the Composite Panel Association (CPA), a third party certifier for the ATCM rule, CraftMaster molded door designs, MiraTEC trim and Extira panels have demonstrated formaldehyde emissions equivalent to background levels found in the environment.
Recycled Content
CraftMaster molded door designs contain a minimum of 25% pre-consumer recycled wood content. This is certified by Scientific Certification Systems, certificate number SCS-MC-01801. Hollow core CraftMaster Green Doors contain a minimum of 23% pre-consumer recycled wood content and solid core CraftMaster Green Doors contain a minimum of 48% pre-consumer recycled wood content.
Contribution to Industry Green Building Programs
CraftMaster molded door designs, CraftMaster Green Doors, MiraTEC trim and Extira panels contribute to industry programs such as LEED® and NAHB - National Green Building Standard™.
